Programme:

Leeds took the lead when Tommy Wright scored after nineteen minutes and eleven minutes later Andy Linighan doubled their advantage, although there seemed to be debate as the Glasgow Herald saw it as an own goal by Iain Phillip, but that was the end of the scoring. Raith Rovers brought on Jim Kerr for Jim Marshall and Brian Ritchie for Paul Smith, while their Unused Substitutes were Willie Herd, Iain Livingstone and Paul Sweeney. Leeds cruise home

Leeds United cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Raith Rovers, the Scottish Second Division club, at Kirkcaldy last night. Leeds, for whom Sellars was outstanding, had a shaky start and survived one shot which cannoned off the post before taking the lead in the noneteenth minute. Collecting a short corner from the right, Lorimer flashed the ball across the face of the goal and Wright angled a neat header well out of the goalkeeper's reach. The second , on the half hour, also came from a corner. With Linighan menacing the home defence, centre half Phillips headed high into his own net.
